RACE: Aman

The Amani have historically been a savage race that has known constant war since the dawn of time. As slaves they fought as conquerors, but after freeing themselves they have learned to temper their primal instincts and now battle for peace. Today, the Amani are a noble and honorable race that upholds freedom and self sacrifice. They now use their brute strength and hardened bodies to protect themselves and their allies from any and all threats.

History of the Amani
Sporting fierce visages of powerful beasts, the Amani have persevered through a history rife with conflict.

The Amani are a warrior race, having been embroiled in constant warfare with the other races since the beginning of time. Since the time that their father and creator, Amarun, gave life to the Amani during the Age of Deities, they have engaged their neighboring races in ceaseless battle. Following the death of Amarun, the Amani became enslaved to the Republic of Giants in its quest for continental supremacy.

Recent times have seen the Amani continue to serve the front line in the defense of the Valkyon Federation from the Argon invaders. Having been inured to a constant struggle for supremacy and pursuit of ambition, the Amani experienced a rebirth into a race that valued freedom, prestige, and self-sacrifice following their long ordeal of enslavement. This transformation contributed greatly to the acceptance of the Aman into the ranks of the multi-racial Valkion Coalition.

The Amani possess imposingly ferocious and mighty physiques and powerful willpower cultured over many years of fighting as warriors. They value and show pride in their aspiration for prestige.

Appearance
As a warrior and reptilian/beast-like race, the Amani feature very strong and tough physiques. Their muscular build is usually adorned with scaly skin and their heads sport various horns. In addition, they are of a height comparable to the Baraka race. Their skin tone consist of earth-like colors giving them a very warm presence. The male faces are rather draconic while the females have a very humanoid face. To express themselves they occasionally have markings on their faces ranging from natural white to a warm yellow. To enhance their physique they usually wear very modern and uniquely styled gear which is well forged or sown in Kaiator itself.

"Created by the god Amarun". Home city is Kaiator. Freed from slavery by the giants by the gods Kaia and Lok as well as with help from the Castanics.

When the humans' patron god cursed them, the amani and deva empires scrabbled over human lands in a war that weakened both. Unfortunately for the amani, the powerful giants decided aman soldiers would be useful. They enslaved the entire race, binding them with an unbreakable Seal of Obedience to ensure their loyalty.

Liberation of the Amani People

There are four possible theories for how the Amani were liberated: Amani Sovereignty Theory, Lok and the Castanic Artisans Theory, Kaia's Grace Theory, and the Giant Hubris Theory.

The Holy Empire of Giants collapsed suddenly as it was hit with two crises: the wrath of the gods and the wrath of the suddenly freed amani people. Those two crises happened at more or less the same time—and at the time, the giants’ empire stretched across both continents. Therefore, there are many ways to approach the same event from different perspectives.

Amani Sovereignty Theory
Some believe that the Amani People themselves were the driving force behind the Amani Liberation. Specifically, Davan, a hero by most accounts, appealed to the gods to come to the aid of the Amani People. Believers of the sovereignty theory agree that it was his entreaties to the gods that started everything in motion.

Lok and the Castanic Artisans Theory
Others believe that the primary influence behind the Amani Liberation was Lok and the Castanic Clan, exiled from the Deva society. Lok was the chief designer of the Key of Freedom that resolved the puzzle of the seemingly unbreakable Seal of Obedience. Artisans in the Castanic Clan were essential in the construction and forging of the key. Once completed, the Amani gained a greater sense of freedom and mental liberation.

Kaia's Grace Theory
Some scholars believe that it was Kaia's Grace that freed the Amani from oppression. It was Kaia who answered Davan's call and issued Lok to break the Seal of Obedience. After Lok and the Castanic artisans forged the Key of Freedom, it was Kaia who put it to use and freed the Amani from their tyrannical captors. Ergo, some believe that the grace exhibited by Kaia was the catalytic act that sparked the Amani Liberation.

Giant Hubris Theory
Lastly, some believe that the giant's brought the Amani Liberation upon themselves. As the Holy Empire of the Giants grew and expanded, so did their hubris and arrogance, ultimately leading to disaster when the gods destroyed the majority of their civilization. This inevitable result left the giants in a weakened state, less able to combat an Amani slave resistance.
